When the rainbow appears in the sky above the Clifton Shire, it heralds a celebration of rain, and refreshes the community spirit of the Shire's residents. Like the desert flower which blooms under the toughest conditions such as drought, so too the centre of the flower represents the spirit which binds our community together. The petals of the flower reach out to hold together our Shire under a protective umbrella, showing a will to persevere and survive.
