STORY OF CLIFTON LIBRARY'S BIG TED

Visitors to the Clifton Library are very surprised and often overwhelmed to find Big Ted on his red lounge in the Young Adult section.

We are often asked how Big Ted ended up in the library and it is a story worth telling.

Big Ted was found on a Brisbane footpath where he had been left awaiting a council collection.

He was saved by a kind lady and taken to Clifton with the hope he could be adopted by one of our library patrons.

Pearl fell in love with Big Ted however she could not accommodate him due to his size.

Pearl came to the Clifton Library and asked Bernadette if he could come and live in the library.

Bernadette is an avid teddy bear collector so her answer was an enthusiastic "YES PLEASE".

Big Ted often has people join him on his red lounge while they read and sometimes nap.
